Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

  • Develops and implements company and regulatory quality standards in Analytical Laboratory facility.

  • Knowledgeable of industry and governmental regulations affecting product quality.

  • Develops, implements, revises and maintains quality standards, tools and methods for processing materials into finished products.

  • Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment . Analyzes production limitations and standards .

  • Recommends revision of specifications when indicated.

  • Formulates or assists in formulating quality control policies and pro cedures .

  • Drives quality improvement and cost reduction using Six Sigma or Lean met hodology. Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the laboratory quality management system and to identify the occurrence of departure from the quality management system and initiate actions to prevent or minimize such departures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the day-to-day activities of the Analytical Laboratory are carried out in a safe and productive manner, adhering to GMP/ GLP standards at all times.

  • Be the SME for batch calculations and adjustments for all finished product liquids.

  • Knowledge of basic principles, methods, technologies and practices of a professional/ technical field.

  • General knowledge of procedures and activities within own work area.

  • Focused on learning the key aspects and duties of the job being perfo rmed.

  • Applies research, info rmati on gathering and analytical skills.

  • Handles detailed, structured problems.

  • Works on assignments where judgment is required a majority of the time.

  • Works under general direction, seeks assistance as needed.

  • Contributes to own team/ closely related teams through quality and accuracy of own out put .

  • Conveys information in a concise and professional manner .

  • Asks effective questions and solicits feedback to understand needs.

  • Anticipates future needs based on past transactions.

  • Provide adequate supervision of testing including trainees and assessment of the test resu lts.

  • Be an Approved Signatory to issue SAC endorsed report, to take responsibility for the validity and ensure adequacy of test result, design quality control programs, set action criteria and take corrective action when required.

  • Provide advice and guidance in technical mat ters , opinion and interpretation based on results, and identify and resolve technical related problem.

  • Perform technical competency assessment for t rainee .

  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor .

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science or related discipline or Diploma with minimum 1 to 3 years of experience.
