Eaton Corporation Factory Manager in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Eaton’s Vehicle VGNA division is currently seeking a Factory Manager. This position will be based in our San Luis Potosí location. Relocation assistance will be provided. Travel up to 10% may be required.​

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Factory Manager Manages and ensures deployment and compliance of site EHS programs, Eaton corporate policies and procedures, local, state and federal regulatory requirements and aligns site strategy to global strategy, with Product Line Managers.

You will assure deployment and execution of strategies communicated from Site Director. Align and manage PLM’s, IE, Manufacturing and Maintenance areas to achieve operating and production objectives optimizing all the resources through budget management and meeting targets consistent with quality assurance requirements in coordination with site functional areas.

You will be responsible for Assessing and analyzing cost of production to find ways to optimize expenses and profit through process improvement and workforce efficiency. Align and adapt BU strategies to achieve site High 5s. And communicating with site director or other functional leaders for shifting company priorities, needs and/or potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.

• Provide quality oversite of the production operations with Maintenance and Quality Control - team monitors and audits the production operation to ensure work standards, training, quality checks, calibration, etc. standards are being effectively executed and maintained.

• Forecast labor requirements and efficiency through capacity planning and recommend equipment and/or facility changes, production methods, or material handling procedures.

• Initiate and recommend the purchase of new capital equipment.

• Leverage data analysis to improve the team’s performance and identify opportunities to influence product development priorities.

• Work cross-functionally to understand the Value Stream and how projects impact the entire process. Ensure material flow, workstation setup is considered when processes are designed.

• Integrate production and distribution to provide the highest level of customer service.

• Manage inventory with best-in-class principles – raw materials and finished goods.

• Develop comprehensive training programs to improve production output and lower labor costs.

• Work with Human Resources to review compensation levels to ensure manpower is available to meet production targets and satisfy customer demand.

• Control and minimize overtime labor.

• Enforce corporate policies, processes, and procedures.

• Foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.

• Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, engineering or related fields required.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a management position within a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive).

• English – language capability, speaking, reading & writing required

• Demonstrated knowledge and plant manufacturing operations and business leadership, and Continuous Improvement framework.

• Strong knowledge and experience process tools such as profit planning, strategic planning, Lean System/Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management, Quality System, and Environmental Health and Safety.

• Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, plant engineering, production/materials planning, maintenance needs and systems application.

• Broad financial knowledge for asset management, budgeting and profit plan obtainment.

• Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all levels.

• Strong leadership skills must be capable of leading their organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement.

Skills:

• Support continuous improvement framework efforts to meet and exceed customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.

• Establish a timely response for corrective actions to help drive continuous improvement framework through the Environmental Management Program.

• Utilizing the prolaunch process, direct the transfer, start-up and development of new technologies or new processes; promotes and applies the continuous improvement framework.

• Develop and implement positive employee relations (Eaton Philosophy) to encourage employee involvement and to create an environment in which employees see no need for third party intervention.

• Proactive & results driven.

• Interaction with non-direct controlled functions (i. e. Marketing and Product engineering) to ultimately achieve strategic and profit plans, and plant goals and objectives.

• Maintaining non-union plant status in a local region that has been targeted by the UAW and other organized labor efforts.
