Salary Range: $140,000 to $180,000

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager of Total Rewards, you will develop a compelling Total Rewards practice that enables Cupertino Electric (CEI), and watch your efforts build the future. Literally. From Renewable Energy to Data Center, to our Commercial business, our three divisions have earned CEI a solid reputation as one of the nation’s leading electrical contractors. Our customers’ increasing demand for our services is pushing us to responsibly scale our workforce.

In this role you will operate a Center of Excellence (COE) for Total Rewards that will drive a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce to deliver the impeccable quality that our customers expect. You will enable alignment and integration of Total Rewards practices and strategies. Key to this role is communicating the value of the Total Rewards programs to employees and managers.

The Total Rewards Manager will be working with CEI’s Chief People Officer to advance the operating model for the People Team. In this model, Total Rewards will act as central point of expertise that integrates the corporate services and divisions in cohesive programs, processes and infrastructure. To achieve this, you will be responsible for the management of practices and programs. Working with the Chief People Officer and the People Team Senior Leadership, you will be an SME and manage projects involving design and implementation of various Total Rewards Policies, Programs, and Processes. Working with the HR Shared Services Team and other CoE’s you will establish efficient methods for providing manager and HR support for services related to Total Rewards.

SCOPE:

Compensation

  • With strategic direction, develop, implement, and manage CEI’s compensation programs, including those for base, incentive, and equity.

  • Maintain job families, banding, scales, and/or ranges that ensure clear, easy, and equitable workforce movement and alignment to the changes in the organization.

  • Provide research and systematic support for the development of compensation strategies to ensure CEI is always leading with a proven employment brand in the industry.

  • Program manage the design and implementation of all aspects of compensation, benefits and rewards, especially including non-financial rewards.

Benefits

  • Manage the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise-wide benefit programs.

  • Communicate to employees the value of their benefits as part of Total Rewards.

  • Build a dynamic value chain with third-party vendors to ensure timely customer service and accurate cost-effective plan administration.

  • Leverage annual Open Enrollment and other program events to further communicate the value of Total Rewards.

Scope:

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

Complexity:

Works on issues of diverse scope where review of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

Discretion:

Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.

Interaction:

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must drive a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

Supervision:

Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

  • HR Programs Management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar related fields.

Experience:

  • Five(5) years or more of experience in Total Rewards with a focus on a dynamic, fast-growing workforce, preferable in electrical EPC (Estimating, Procurement, and Construction), or a similar project based technical environment.

  • Three (3) years or more of experience managing Total Rewards programs for a company with similar framework.
