Position Summary Information
General Summary
TheStudent Intern – IT Service Deskassists in providing IT technical support for MS Windows, MS Office, troubleshooting software and hardware, hardware/software upgrades, basic networking, share level permissions, print queue issues, DHCP and DNS issues, and creating\maintaining documented processes.
Essential Functions
Assists the IT Manager and IT technicians with maintenance and support of network devices and peripherals
Assists the IT Department with installations and support of servers, workstations, laptops, and network hardware
Sets up and upgrades computers, phones and other accessories
Assists with basic help desk support
Helps with special projects related to hardware and software enhancement/troubleshooting
Maintains IT inventory
Handles user account lockouts, expired passwords and password resets
Other Functions
Performs other related duties, as required.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
Business casual office environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Solid knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite.
Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively.
Team player and self-starter.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
Completion of 1+ years of college coursework towards a degree in IT, Computer Science, software development, network engineering or related IT discipline.
Additional Requirements
Must be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite applications, including Access and Visio.
Familiarity with networking concepts
Preferences
Previous customer service experience.
Experience with Active Directory and MS Exchange.
