Job Description:

Will be responsible for compounding, sample preparation, data entry and basic lab testing.

Retrieve samples from various departments including R&D, sensory, production, etc.

Work closely with the Head Chemist, the Samples Lab Manager, and other Research and Quality Chemists in the lab.

Assist with the shipping and receiving of samples to/from both clients as well as other internal labs.

Must follow standard instructions to measure or weigh dyes, chemicals, and other substances into the compounding equipment.

Responsible for checking consistency and viscosity in various batches and documenting the results.

Follow sanitary guidelines and SOPs to ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Work in a faced paced environment able to multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.

Utilize lab equipment such as pH meter, viscometer, color meter, and water activity meter.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences (chemistry, biology, Food Science, etc.)

Must have some hands on lab experience, from industry or undergraduate program. Previous experience prepping samples is a plus.

Basic math skills.

Ability to multitask or handle multiple simultaneous projects and priorities.

Good communication skills verbal and written. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization including technical teams.

Experience working with Food and Food Safety Guidelines (HACCP, GMP, and SQF) experience is a plus.
