Boehringer Ingelheim (Senior) Category Manager for Real World Evidence and Digital Health in Ingelheim, Germany

As (Senior) Category Manager for Digital Health Projects, Real World Evidence (RWE), Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Late-Stage Trials (LST) at Boehringer Ingelheim you’ll be on a versatile mission. Tasks & responsibilities

  • Strategic strength, persuasiveness, and assertiveness: You’ll be well prepared to develop and implement sourcing strategies for your global categories that will set new standards with regards to speed to market, new digital health trends and opportunities, long term sustainable sourcing decision, competitive sourcing, and productivity.

  • Striving to make innovation happen you’ll keep a close eye on supply markets, search and find new partners, service providers and solutions for your categories, assess risks and develop new channels to create value.

  • You lead cross-functional teams that implement innovative processes which result in external cost reduction and negotiations to find competitive solutions and finalize contracts for RWE and digital health agenda and implementation of 3D (Digital health, Data & Intelligence/RWE, Diagnostics).

  • Furthermore, you’ll identify new suppliers, assess existing and prospective ones, and build close relationships to current and new business partners.

  • For supply related risks, you liaise closely with internal business partners and local purchasers, to identify, evaluate and classify sourcing risks, devise risk mitigation measures and ensure continuous improvement.

  • You will accompany the stakeholders’ in defining their expectations and requirements while preselecting service providers to meet these expectations.

As Senior Category Manager, you additionally take over the following tasks:

  • You develop and implement sourcing strategies for complex global categories and drive complex sourcing projects in various sourcing areas.

  • In addition, you will define solutions and approaches to satisfy internal stakeholders.

  • You will work closely to understand the plans, assess the risks and look for ways to

  • maximize speed of execution and success in the studies and projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Diploma in business administration and/or pharmacy and/or chemistry

  • Several years of sourcing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in contracting and supplier relationship management, ideally knowledge in Real World Evidence and Digital Health related categories

  • Specific market intelligence and sourcing experience in GxP-relevant categories are required

  • Knowledge of demand management, market and supplier analysis, due diligence, risk management, and key performance indicators such as total operating costs, savings, net present value

  • Open-minded, motivated, persuasive, and perseverant personality with outstanding internal and external relationship management skills and willingness to take on responsibility

  • Fluency in English, German knowledge is a plus

As Senior Category Manager, you additionally have:

  • Long-term sourcing experience in the pharmaceutical company for GxP-relevant categories combined with category specific knowledge and excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Experience in the definition of sourcing channels and in developing complex sourcing strategies incl. global implementation and deployment

  • Knowledge in shifting Categories from decentralized to centrally led/centralized

  • Experience and high skill in managing complex contract negotiations for software as a service solution
