The Sherwin-Williams Company User Experience Designer III in Cleveland, Ohio

The User Experience Designer will have the opportunity to help shape excellent customer experiences across a variety of Sherwin-William's websites and applications. By leveraging UX design and research methods, they will help create user focused products to bring enhanced business outcomes. This is a mid-level role. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning Collaborate with business partners to understand needs and define requirements for websites and software applications. Oversee usability and design research for each project using techniques like contextual inquiry, competitive analysis, etc. to understand usage problems. Support UX strategy and process definition within the company. Acquisition & Deployment Translate business and user needs into usable, visually compelling, and technically sound interactive solutions, utilizing multiple technologies. Communicate concepts using a variety of methods (i.e., wireframes, mockups, prototypes) in order to help stakeholders envision proposed designs. Conduct heuristic evaluation and task-based usability tests to validate design solutions. Help establish and maintain UI consistency across designed systems. Operational Management Support the development team through iterative lifecycle of design implementations. Collaborate with product owners, marketing, engineering and other stakeholders on the implementation and support of designed solutions. Indiental Functions Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks. Train and knowledge share with development teams and other members of the UX team. Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested. Participate in project and communication meetings with clients. Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work. Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years in experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business). Knowledge & Experience 2+ years IT and/or Business experience. 2+ years of UX design. Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Basic understanding of Field and Usability testing. Basic understanding of responsive web design concepts and applications. Some experience communicating concepts using a variety of methods (i.e., wireframes, mockups, prototypes) in order to help stakeholders envision proposed designs. A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity and proven experience in telling stories, building UI models, generating detailed wire frames, developing prototypes and delivering comprehensive specifications.
